Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information for our Customers

We are all experiencing an unpresented time in the light of the recent national emergency with the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to reassure our customers that we are following the UK Government advice and we are also closely monitoring the situation.

To help our customers at this time, we have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions or need further help or assistance, please get in touch with our sales team at the following email address:

Can I still place an order with Python Detectors?

Yes, our Sales Team and Suppliers are working hard to ensure that wherever possible there is no interruption to our normal ordering process.

Is it safe to receive a package from any area where COVID-19 has been reported?

Yes, currently the World Health Organisation (WHO) state that the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.

How long does the virus survive on surfaces?
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) it is not certain how long the virus that causes COVID-19 survives on surfaces, but it seems to behave like other coronaviruses. Studies suggest that coronaviruses (including preliminary information on the COVID-19 virus) may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. This may vary under different conditions (e.g. type of surface, temperature or humidity of the environment).

If you think a surface may be infected, clean it with simple disinfectant to kill the virus and protect yourself and others. Clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose.

Is it safe to receive packages from our Delivery Partners?
Yes, currently Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not put at any additional risk of contracting COVID-19.

During this COVID-19 period we will be using UPS as our Delivery Partner, and in the interest of their employee’s and customer (consignee) safety, UPS has temporarily adjusted their Signature Required guidelines, such that the consignee will no longer need to sign for the delivery. Despite this adjusted process the UPS driver will still need to make contact with the consignee in line with the government recommend Social Distancing guidelines.

The consignee must, at the time of delivery, acknowledge that UPS is making a delivery and if applicable show relevant photo ID.

Will my Delivery still arrive on time?
Once a dispatched date is booked, the majority of the delivery services continue at the same service level as before, where UPS Standard UK Delivery is 1 – 2 working days. For International Deliveries, this will depend on the country location and the COVID-19 situation at the time, but typically International Deliveries will take between 7 – 10 working days.

What is the Return Policy and how can I return and order if I am Self-Isolating?
Our Returning of Goods Policy is listed in Section 12 in our Terms & Conditions and can be viewed here, this also list the returns address.
